GR188: MoolahDash: Where Virtual Reality Meets Financial Reality

Dr Farah Raihana Ismail SEGi University

MoolahDash is a virtual reality board game designed for school and college students aged 13 to 30 to make learning about money simple, fun, and realistic. Inspired by the classic Snakes and Ladders game, it uses an immersive gamification approach with helicopter rides and tube slides to show the ups and downs of financial life. Set in the Malaysian context, the game reflects local culture, income levels, and daily spending habits, making it relatable and adaptable to young players. Through hands-on gameplay, students learn budgeting, saving, investing, and financial risk management. MoolahDash supports SDG 4 on quality education, SDG 8 on decent work and economic growth, and SDG 10 on reducing inequalities. It aims to build confident, financially smart Malaysians who can make better financial decisions and shape a more inclusive digital future.
